The MX-88 is a U.S.-manufactured, compact, IP-based MU-MIMO MANET radio providing infrastructure-independent mesh communications for tactical, emergency and industrial operations. It supports data, voice, and video across dynamically formed mesh networks without fixed infrastructure. Each node operates as a peer, handling routing and data forwarding, while the network self-forms and self-heals in response to mobility, RF conditions, and topology changes.
While many fielded MANET systems rely on legacy hardware and older wireless protocols, the MX-88 is built on a modern embedded computing platform and current-generation RF technologies. Its modular design supports future RF upgrades, delivering higher processing capability, increased data throughput, and improved long-term scalability.
The MX-88 is built on an open architecture using widely supported technologies, intentionally avoiding dependence on proprietary features and closed ecosystems. This ensures flexible, interoperable integration with a broad range of third-party hardware and software without vendor lock-in. Leveraging mature, widely adopted frameworks further improves reliability by reducing software conflicts, simplifying troubleshooting, and supporting long-term stability.
The platform is preconfigured for out-of-the-box operation, minimizing deployment time while retaining full configurability for advanced users and mission-specific requirements.
